Getting there
Cape Panwa, home to Sri Panwa is one of the most
beautiful and tranquil coastal settings Phuket has to
offer. Sri Panwa villas are located approximately 8
km drive south east from Phuket town along the
cape.
Phuket International Airport transfers are a lei-surely
45 minutes drive.
Cape Panwa Overview
This southern corner of the island is made up of a
high ridge that slopes down to the sea on both
sides, giving almost every location an ocean view.
There is limited local entertainment making it
quiet, picturesque and not very touristy. The Cape
is more protected than the west coast of the island
with fewer beaches but there are several small
stretches of sand that are especially pretty, and
almost private.
Cape Panwa offers an entirely different atmosphere
that many visitors simply love. The drive from
Phuket Town says a lot, for the road with little traf-fic,
winds around hills and through coconut and
rubber plantations. Through the coconut gardens
views of the ocean can be seen.
Once on the shore line panoramic views of an
ocean that, on a clear day, thrusts back a vivid blue
backdrop broken by the humpback outlines of dis-tant
islands and on an exceptionally clear day the
more rugged forms of the Phi Phi islands are visi-ble.
Khao Khat and Ao Yon Bay (oyster cove) are
two particularly scenic areas on the cape.ഊ
It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to drive to Chalong
and Rawai bays where excellent seafood restau-rants
and bars sit overlooking the beach. Patong,
Kata or Karon, are a further 20 minutes drive but,
if you are a family group and want a quiet and
beautiful get-away, this green corner of the island
will probably be ideal.
Ao Makham Deep Sea Port is located on the east
side of the cape and is the gateway to Maiton and
Phi Phi islands which can be visited as a day trip
outing or longer.

Nearby Off-shore islands
Koh Lon Island (Long Island)
This large, mountainous island is only 20 minutes
by regular passenger boat from Chalong Bay. The
mainly Muslim inhabitants engage in fishing, rub-ber
and coconut planting. There is a long stretch of
beach on the northeast coast.
Coral Island or Hey Island
This island off Phuket's south coast is so well
known for its coral reef that it is often referred to
simply as Coral Island. In addition to the splendid
reefs there are two fine beaches on the north and
west. Boats leave from Rawai and Chalong.
Maiton Island
This tiny island off Phuket's southeast coast is
highly prized for its still perfect natural environ-ment,
including fine white beaches and crystal wa-ters;
ideal for swimming, diving, or fishing. Day-time
excursion boats leave from Ao Makham Deep
Sea Port.
